Helping Hooves is a program for riders with disabilities run by the Seekins family. Camp Li-Wa hosts it September – April and it continues through the summer months at the Seekins family ranch.

Li-Wa’s horses as well as volunteers serve in this program, and availability is based on the horse and spaces each year. Each block is about 45 minutes of ride time with games, activities, stretches to grow each individual student where they are at. Helping Hooves will run 10 week semesters on Tuesdays afternoons.

We are always looking for more volunteers to get involved! Whether your experience is more with horses, or PT, or merging the two. We have an additional volunteer form for Helping Hooves, but are flexible if your schedule inhibits you from committing to every week of the semester.

This program uses standards through CHA’s IRD (Certified Horsemanship Association’s Independent Riders with Disabilities training and certification).

If you are interested in enrolling a participant, call Connie Seekins at (907) 388-1275.
